HISTORY
The Art Militia´s 1st Regiment "Sørland" was founded May 20th 2007, and held its first public appearance and exhibition in June the same year. The first fire team was established to operate the paint cannon "S-66".
In 2008, a new weapon system, the FK-08 (Paint Rocket Artillery) was developed and a second fire team was established to operate this. In addition, support and communications teams were established. In addition, the first exercise under proper winter conditions was held in Nov. '08.
In 2009, the second independent unit of the LAM, the 2nd (Land Art) Regiment San Diego, was founded in California.
During 2009 a number of exercises were held, as well as exhibitions showcasing the militias activities in various forms. Recruitment picked up, a field camera team was set up for the 1st Rgt., and the administrative year 2010 started off with a successful winter exercise - EXERCISE WOLVERINE.
In addition to the exhibitions the 1st Rgt. participated in, 2010 saw the foundation of the 3rd (Inhuman music) Regiment in Berlin by author and musician Cornelius von Jackhelln. The new Regiment´s commander quickly rose to the rank of Major through effective recruitment and is currently the highest ranking officer of the militia. The 3rd Rgt. represents an expansion not only in size, but takes the militia into musical and academic territories hitherto unexplored by its sister Regiments.
